On the crisp cool morning of May 21st, 2022 Brandon and I walked into the gorgeous Chicago Doubletree at 6am ready to be enthralled in whatever that fantastic day was going to bring us. It was finally the day we had all been waiting for, the wedding of Dawning and Aarya. Previous to this wedding, we had worked on small Wedding Ceremonies and projects, but nothing quite on this scale. We were about to shoot a 13 hour Bahai wedding, that included a plethora of locations, ceremonies, and an Open Mic Reception. Let’s just say we were equally intiruged yet excited for what this day was going to bring, and we were so ready to accompany this special couple on the biggest day of their lives! Before the big day we had the wonerful opportunity to meet the couple for an engagement shoot and we clicked with Dawning and Aarya immediately! Not only was the engagement shoot so much fun, but we had a wonderful time learning about the couple and their love story. By the time of the wedding day it felt like we were about to watch our own friends get married which made it all the more special.

Can you believe how gorgeous this couple’s first look came out, truly breathtaking! The moment they laid eyes on each other you could feel how overwhelming happy and ready they were to make their forever committment.

From the first look to the end of the reception, the amount of joy and love that was poured into this couple was so vibrant it was felt by all! The ceremony took place at the Bahai temple which is one of my favorite locations on Earth now, filled with so much beauty and peace. Following the gorgeous Ceremony and prayers, which gave the audience an amazing view into a captivating religion, we headed to a secondary site for the reception. The couple decided to have an Open Mic event during the reception for all of their friends and family to perform and speak at. This was such a fun twist on sharing the uniqueness of their beloved community. What a talented group of people! We saw violinist, singers, a hula dancer, and some pretty funny stand up. Overall the day was so amazing for such an amazing couple and were so proud we could be apart of it.
