How do you Fall?
Fall? FALL?? How in the world is it Fall already! I swear I was just celebrating my birthday at the end of May and now the year is practically over. Not to mention the weather certainly doesn’t feel like Fall here in the Bay Area, with temperatures still blazing past 90 degrees everyday! Regardless of the weather, that shouldn’t stop us from still celebrating our Fall wardrobe by cranking up that AC! For this blog I did some shopping so that I can show you how to dress for the season and where you can wear each item too! I paired what I bought with some everyday essential pieces that you can easily sub in from your own closet! So, “What are you wearing?”
Cotton On Joggers: $11
I was recently put onto CottonOn and oh my goodness I don’t know why it took so long. I absolutely love them! Thats why when I saw these joggers for only $11 it would have been a crime not to get them. I paired them with a green shirt to give it an earth element, along with my cream John Varvatos Converse. Grab a bomber to throw over it and you got yourself a nice comfy outfit to grab some coffee or run some errands.
PacSun T-Shirt: $13
Funny story about this shirt. I ordered this shirt on pacsun.com just looking for more graphic tee’s to add to my closet, and once I received the product I noticed there was a little Gemini symbol right in the middle of the shirt! It was made to be. The shirt is a dark teal so paired with the tan chino makes a perfect match. Just grab a white sneaker and an overcoat for a casual evening drinking with some friends.
Top Man Chino: $25
Vans: $65
I have been looking for a pair of chino’s like these for forever! My hunt was finally over once I walked into Nordstrom rack after the reopening. They have the look and feel of a dress pant while being cropped at the bottom, and having a drawstring at the top to give it a more dressed down look. As soon as I saw these I knew the perfect shoe would be a classic pair of black and white Vans, so shortly after buying the pants I bought my first pair of Vans! The black tee ties back in with the Vans as well as a denim to throw on. This gives you a put together skater look that will be ideal to wear to the movies!
FOG Essentials Joggers: $90
Adidas T-Shirt: $23
Jerry Lorenzo has quickly become one of my personal favorite designers, creating his Fear Of God label, but most importantly, his Essentials collection. Essentials by F.O.G. is the perfect luxury comfy wear and since I got my first item I haven’t stopped ordering. These joggers make the perfect streetwear outfit paired with this long sleeve shirt from PacSun, and a pair of Yeezys to honor Jerry’s and Kanye West’s friendship. All you need is a bomber jacket and you are ready to take your streetwear game to the next level.
Cotton On Oxford Shirt: $20
Top Man T-shirt: $5
Cotton On Joggers: $20
Back with some fan favorites! First lets talk about how great a deal this shirt was! It came in a whole range of colors and were all on sale for $5! They work as the perfect layering shirt and with the multiple colors it came in, they’re easy to interchange. It may still be a bit warm where you are so tying the oxford around your waist is ideal so you can still add some layers to your outfit. When it gets a little colder you can put on the oxford and slip on a brown sneaker to get ready for the pumpkin patch.
Jaden Smith Hoodie (SYRE): $65
Jaden Smith is one of my favorite artists, fashion designer, and motivator. Being his age and recognizing his work on making a better world for us to survive in is inspirational. When he rereleased his SYRE tour merchandise there was no way I could not get one! I went with the grey color because I have way too many black hoodies and the white would have never survived the week (most likely the day). With the pink detailing I went with a pink shirt to tie in with the lettering and a pair of distress jeans to pull together, a subtle Jaden look. Tied with the Linen Yeezys to really bring an elevated streetwear. Look at you, ready to rock out in the VIP section of a concert. Make sure to have some JUST Water with you!
Barefoot Dreams Cardigan: $120
Okay let me explain. Barefoot Dreams uses the absolute softest, smoothest, silkiest material I have ever felt to create a line of casual wear and home items for women and men. Rayna first fell in love with their cardigans in Catalina and since then we three have over a dozen pieces including blankets, cardigans, and robes. This particular Cardigan is in the women section but I believe to be unisex. I bought an extra large to give it a longer baggier effect and it now makes for the perfect beach cardigan. Paired with some light denim and a graphic tee just throw on some low top sneaker and enjoy your bonfire at the beach!
Allsaints Shirt: $65
$65 for an Allsaints shirt?? Yeah I know, these sales everywhere have been CRAZY. I found this shirt while traveling in Arizona and fell in love with it immediately. There is little jazz musicians all over the shirt giving it some real New Orleans vibes. It’s a real nice silky flowing shirt so giving it a french tuck paired with black denim and some black derby toed shoes gives it justice. I also paired a maroon velvet bomber jacket to give it some mild color while still looking dressed up. Now picture yourself walking down Bourbon Street, daiquiri in one hand and a beignet in the other.
Cotton On Shirt: $30
Cotton On Joggers: $20
UNIQLO Socks: 4 for $12
Okay maybe it is possible to have too many joggers… PSYCH. After purchasing these black joggers my sweats wardrobe was complete. I actually needed to exchange the joggers for a different size and waiting for the cashier I found this amazing long sleeve waffle knit shirt. They had a range of different colors that were all enticing, but I wanted to add a little more green to my wardrobe. Now the UNIQLO socks is one of my favorite items in this post. I have never found anything at UNIQLO that totally fits my style but when I saw the whole wall of socks I almost cried. Just about every color of the rainbow was made into a sock and if I didn’t have my friends present, I would have bought way more than only 4! These are the best socks I have found to pair with Birkenstock’s and if you want a little more dressier look throw an overcoat on for a laid back night out.
Scotch & Soda Pants: $22
Nordstrom rack is where its at! Granted I had to dig through the piles of clothes to find this hidden gem, it was so worth it. Scotch & Soda is a great brand that uses classic designs while putting a trendy twist on them. For a basic going out outfit, pair with a tucked in crisp white shirt, (cuffing the sleeves to give more dimensions to your outfit) and some white sneakers. For a more dressed up and expensive look, pair with a grey blazer and some clean black dress Oxford shoes. Now you're ready to slay these social gatherings whenever they're allowed again.
Laying around all day can feel draining and unproductive but taking a little more time to get ready in the mornings can really help change and uplift your mood for the whole day. Even if its just for you, looking good and being confident in yourself helps to give you some more motivation throughout your day. And hey now when things open back up, you will have all these new outfits to shine in. I'll see you next week!
With Love,
Birdi
