How I pack my Away Sling Bag & Mini

And we’re back! Another blog post and more Away products (I don’t know why we aren’t sponsored yet).  In this weeks blog I am going to be going over my Away Sling Bag and my Away Mini. Both products I have been waiting to get for such a long time so I am so happy and excited to be sharing with you how I pack both! So without further ado, let’s begin.

Away Sling Bag

Now I have been searching for a sling bag for quite a while since they have been getting more and more popular in the men’s streetwear fashion industry. I first came across the Away sling bag about 6 months ago, but it was a limited edition item and completely sold out everywhere!  So you know what that means, manifestation time. About 5 months later Away had their first ever sale and brought back the sling bag! The bag comes in a beautiful retro yellow with a smooth matte finish. It is made from a water resistant leather with three exterior pockets, two in the front and one in the back, with an internal padded zipper and clear slip compartment.  The strap is also themed as a seatbelt buckle which gives a fun twist and an easy on/off system and allows your to cross the bag perfectly across the front of back of your body.  Let me take you through the zippers:

Front Bottom Zipper

This bottom zipper is hidden, almost hidden beneath the leather.  In this zipper I keep my small easy to grab items that I use pretty consistently.  As you probably already guessed it, I have my Tide stick, Vicks stick, and Kopari lip gloss in this pocket.  All these items constantly save my life throughout the day and I would 10/10 recommend these items to a friend.  In this pocket I also include my eyedrops and even my keys occasionally with the retractable key clip.

Front Top Zipper

The top zipper zips left to right which opens the top half of the bag.  In this compartment is a clear slip pocket that I use to put my sanitation wipes and nail clippers.  In the middle I put my portable Away charger that came with my carry on, along with an iPhone wire.  I also put my face mask, glasses cleaner, sanitizer, a pocket cologne, and a little lint roller.  While shopping at Sunglass Hut I also found a “Zero Fog” spray that helps eliminate the fogging of your glasses with your mask on (a life saver), that I also carry in this pocket.  This pocket also contains a padded zipper that I keep my sunglasses in.

Back Zipper

This back zipper is also padded with a soft cloth material which makes great for slipping in some AirPods, another pair of sunglasses, an essential oils pen, or anything else of value to you.  This zipper sits directly against your chest (or back depending on how you are wearing it) so you always know its safe and not directly in the line of view.

Away Mini

Alright, this is pretty exciting.  The Mini Away is exactly what it sounds like, a mini Away suitcase!  This little dude is small enough to carry in your hands while also being big enough to pack all your essential pieces.  The Mini comes in many of the same colors as the suitcases while also coming in the popular Aluminum edition, this is the one that I got.  The Away Mini is used for a range of things, toiletries, electronic wires, or in my case, my photography box.  As moving to New York only gets closer and closer, I decided to pack my Mini with everything I would need on a daily business day in New York.  So lets take you through it.

Main Compartment

With the Aluminum Edition Away bags, they all have a metal clasp closure instead of a zipper closure like the rest of their bags, which is no exception for the Mini version.  The Mini opens up to a mesh pocket on one side and an elastic strap on the other.  On the collapsable side of the bag I keep my lens caps and covers, SD cards and SD card reader.  On the opposite side with the elastic band I stuff an extra batter, lens cleaning brush, a USB and some mints under the band.  Thrown in on top of everything is also a pen, a mini hair comb, some business cards (coming real soon) and an adapter for the camera tripod.  With all these items I still have room to throw in any other business needs based on the day.  Some of these items include but are not limited to a small lens, a bluetooth remote clicker, and an external hard drive.

Three Away products down and two more to go. Away makes amazing products that we love to use but there are also a lot of other great options out there! Supreme and ESSENTIALS both make awesome sling bags that work just as well! Thank you guys so much for continuing on following the brand and watching it grow!  See you next week.

With Love ,
