23 Lessons I Learned by my 23rd Birthday
Another year comes and passes us by, and within every year we all get a little more matured, aged, and hopefully more knowledgeable. My birthday was last week and in the grand tradition of my birthday I was able to pretty much celebrate for a whole week. As I was enjoying my birthday festivities, I couldn’t help but take some time to look at my life and to notice just how drastically different it looks since my last birthday. With all of this change and growth, one consistent lesson continued to jump at me, and it was the fact that this is the happiest I have ever been in my whole life. I decided to pin down 23 different lessons I have learned and applied in my life and decided to share them with my readers, so that maybe you can take some of my lessons and change your own. I hope that the more that I grow and go through this life, I continue to only become more wiser, be a better person, and can continue to share the things that I know. So here are the 23 lessons that have truly changed my life.
Honestly, if you take anything away from this blog post it is this: The Power of manifestation!! You can have ANYTHING in this world you just need to purely ask for it. The Universe and God are amazingly abundant power sources of life and the more you positively feel about them and yourself you will see true change within your life. My research and knowledge about this topic has given me such direction and knowledge about the laws of our world that I will carry with me forever.
Always, always, always remember you are the absolute baddest bitch of all time and never let yourself settle for less. All you have to know is that you're too hot for this, learn this phrase and use it well.
You are the only main character in your life but that never gives you the power to treat someone else as a sub character. Live and be concerned with your own movie, and if you cant be a positive role for someone else let their story line go on.
Please hear me loud and clear: Move on sis! There is such better careers, more beautiful living situation, and way more romantic men out there for you to ever feel stuck or that you are settling. Remember, You will never have to force anything in your life. You cant get to the next best destination in your life if your stuck at the crappy pit stop.
Surround yourself with music, and figure out the soundtrack of your life. There is nothing more fulfilling than being surrounded by sound that fills your soul.
Enjoy and find comfort in the small moments of life. Life flashes in the blink of an eye so remember to be grateful when you get to hug your mom, enjoy your favorite meal, or watch a new movie.
Physical health is an extremely hard yet rewarding journey that your body will thank you for throughout your life. I have never taken my health as a priority, but in the past year I decided to take my control back and have now successfully lost twenty pounds. In taking care of my body, I have the energy, confidence, strength, and discipline to achieve the life that I want that I didn’t have before.
Drink water! Like extreme amounts of it, from the time you wake up to the time you go to bed. Even if you’ve drank eight cups of water today, go get another one, this is your sign.
Pay attention and focus on the beautiful anomaly’s of this world. Everything has been placed here for a purpose so take the time to breathe and enjoy sunsets, stars, and the ocean. Find energy, peace, and refreshments in nature.
Establish routines and stick to them, discipline always equals happiness. Once you do a routine for twenty-one days it becomes a habit, you and your life deserves consistency.
Your body, room, and home is a temple. Love it, Cherish it, and Treat it as such with great care.
Spend less time thinking about what others think of you and more time on what you think of yourself. Truly at the end of the day the only person you need to make happy day in and day out and look at in the mirror is yourself. Make sure that person is exactly what you want them to be.
Find and surround yourself with an empowering social circle. For me, I have found such solace in an incredibly strong female group that has supported me through everything. Find your own circle that is positive, supportive, and fun that can include a great mix of family, friends, colleagues, and pets.
For the love of God, PLEASE travel. There is so much wonder and beauty in this world to never go out and search for it, and in every place that I have visited and seen it has irreversibly changed my outlook on this world and life. I would not be who I am today without traveling.
Love fearlessly and abundantly, no matter what has happened in your past you are still capable of finding the love of your life, who can be your best friend and best sex partner lol. Remember it is always better to love and loose than to never love at all, and never be afraid of the what if’s.
Embrace all change, for its the only consistent thing in our lives.
Find your dreams, and never stop chasing them. I would rather look back at my life and know I tried chasing after something worth while, then regretting and wondering what my life would look like if I would have just done it.
We are constantly surrounded by knowledge and learning. Take the time to make sure your reading and learning something new everyday about anything! This can be about education, a hobby, self help, astrology, or even cooking. This will give you the confidence to try new things and consistently learn new things.
Life is nothing but your mindset. Focus and shift your mindset and your life will follow. Whenever I’m having a bad moment or day, I literally stop myself in my tracks and tell myself its time to “rebrand”. I look at whats upsetting me, what I can do to change the situation, and what are the positives about my life and shift from the negative into the positive. I will then go back to my activity or day and I swear literally everything changes.
You are the only thing in this life that you can control. (Word to Aaron Burr)
Nothing good ever happens after 2am. Get your game up sis and catch up on that sleep, because I have rarely found that the party, boy, or Jack in the Box to be worth it.
Invest in a great wardrobe with quality pieces that make you feel confident. For most of my life I would say I have followed a lot of fast fashion trends that I never felt truly proud of my clothes. Now that I have a wardrobe with pieces and designers that I love, I have found such an amazing new appreciation for getting ready and presenting myself to the world.
Baby always remember to love yourself and put yourself first.
... And there you have it folks! As I try to interpret and share the things that I have learned, I cant help but to think of all the continuous change and learning lessons that I am about to embark on in this next year and throughout my Twenty-Somethings. Life is such a funny and mysterious thing that takes me by surprise every single day, and one apparent lesson that continues to also dawn on me is that the more I think I know about this life and world the less I actually truly know. So as long as I can go through my days being the best, happiest, and most positive version of myself that I can be, I feel pretty damn satisfied with my days. Sorry to our readers about not posting a Featured Friday last week, I was celebrating my wonderful birthday but we are all set to go regularly this week! I will see you on our next Featured Friday, and I hope you have a great rest of your week.
Cheers to our Twenty-Somethings
